Bev and Prophet Magaya fallout, Bev's girls ready to return to dancing!

Former pole dancer Beverly Sibanda and PHD ministries leader, Prophet Walter Magaya have allegedly fallen out as it has emerged their relationship was founded on ‘promises and lies’, The Zimbabwe Mail can reveal.

When Magaya initially invited Sibanda to his church in January 2014, some circles claimed he had read newspaper reports in a local daily that Sibanda had attended his church the previous Sunday.

“When Magaya invited Sibanda and the other former dancers, a local daily paper had reported that Sibanda and her manager Hapaguti (Mapimhidze) were spotted in church the previous week. That gives credence to people who say that he (Magaya) might have been inspired by that article,” said one former church member.

However speaking through his spokesperson Oscar Pambuka, Magaya dismissed such claims as hogwash and manufactured by people bent on discrediting the ministry.
“People always say a lot of things and many will try to fight the ministry. What I can tell you is that Magaya was led by the holy spirit and invited Sibanda to PHD ministries with a view of helping her transform her life. He advised her to change her line to business and opened a clothing boutique for her and other like-minded youthful girls,” said Pambuka.

Instead, Sibanda was given an undisclosed amount of money as capital for cross-border trading and she travelled to South Africa and Tanzania to buy the clothes.

“No container came from China as claimed, even if you look at the quality of the clothes, it is clear she went down South (South Africa) to buy the items,” said Mapimhidze who insinuated that the ‘Sexy Angels’ cross-over to PHD ministries was for material gains.
On the other hand, Pambuka said, he was not aware of any fall-out between Magaya’s ministry and Sibanda.

Meanwhile, some of the Sexy Angels who spoke to The Zimbabwe Mail on condition of anonymity revealed they were already hunting for shows.

“When we joined PHD ministries we were promised that our livelihood would change and we had to leave our lucrative trade of pole dancing. However, since January the only assistance we have received is a pay out of $70 per month yet we could make at least $500 each per month that Sibanda used to pay us for shows,” said the former dancer.

At least two promoters (names withheld) confirmed that Mapimhidze and the Sexy Angels have approached them for shows and they are still negotiating on charges.

However, The Zimbabwe Mail can reveal that contrary to claims made by Magaya in front of the church that he was going to import a container of clothes from China for Sibanda and the other ‘reformed’ girls, such never happened.

He also maintained that the promise of starting a boutique for her was fulfilled. He was evasive on the container issue. “The boutique was opened and we even invited members of the media to witness the official opening,” said Pambuka.
